“25 Days of Living in the Light!”
We reached out to Bread and Roses to see what they are most in need of. The response came back thay they needed little water bottles and individually packaged snacks so with the gift cards the girls bought 40 healthy granola snacks and 96 little water bottles. They dropped them off last night and are anxious to help serve a meal there too! They are looking forward to helping out there.
“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
1 John 4:16
I chose this project because last time I went to Bread and Roses it was very eye opening to see all the people who didn’t have food on their table every night. This project is important to me because it makes me feel good that I am helping the less fortunate and because more people can be served. This project fits into my faith because people’s lives are being helped and potentially saved.

“Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, “This is indeed the Son who is to come into the world!”
John 6:11-14
I chose Bread and Roses because it seems like an interesting way to help others in our community and it’s good to help other people especially in cases where we have resources to share. It’s important because some people don’t get food at all and go hungry or don’t get proper food to eat and can get sick and not feel loved. I feel that giving to others without expecting anything in return is something that God would do and would like us to be a good neighbor to those in need.
