It seems this is the time of year for celebrations – graduations, anniversaries, theater and concert performances, athletic competitions, etc. There are lots of once-in-a-lifetime milestone events to celebrate!

A friend of mine has developed a spiritual practice that I admire though…she celebrates something every day. Every day she posts on social media something to celebrate. It may be a food or a person or an activity or an event. As a consequence, she has the most joyful Facebook feed I’ve seen!

Did you know that Tuesday was the 20th anniversary of “Towel Day”? On this day, fans of author Douglas Adams carry a towel with them as described in his book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, to demonstrate their appreciation for the book and the author.

Yesterday was a day of recognition and celebration of the life of astronaut and physicist Sally Ride. She was born on this day in 1951.

Here’s something to celebrate today…did you know that today is National Grape Popsicle Day?

Why wait for the big days to celebrate?

“Morning by morning new mercies I see,” says the old hymn. May you find new mercies to celebrate today.

In Christ,

Pastor Jen
