A group of 5 families with young kids from Faith contacted me and wanted to have an April Vacation Retreat at Calumet. Most of the adults have been vaccinated and a lot of the kids are homeschooled. We just used Calumet as a place to stay so we were pretty self sufficient! The staff at camp went above and beyond to really support us! Everyone was really awesome! There was icebreaker games, story time by the fire, bagel sandwiches, making Mothers Day Cards, Games, Arts & Craft, Making Rockets, Pizza, Games, Movie Night, More Games, Hike Up Jackman Ridge and Lake time. There was even seeing fellow Wild Dept. Heads and planets hiking the back trails of Calumet, that was great too see. Did my heart good! And a little excitement with a tree getting blown over with the wind and the Executive Director rescuing of stuffed animals. The kids will remember that for a while. One of the Mom’s said it best, “I am so glad this support system is part of my kids life. I hope it continues for a long time. This place is where I feel at Peace.” I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for a great couple of days. It was really awesome! And it was great to be among you all!!!
