Faith Lutheran Church has been doing kind of an awesome thing the last few months. Every month, the Sunday School kids and the Wed. Night Kids Club kids get sent a packet. We send out about 32 packets each month. Each packet contains an instruction letter addressed to the kids and a link to a video on a Bible story. In January, we focused on the story of “The Great Samaritan.” The kit also contains instructions on where to find the story in the Bible. And coloring sheets and activity workbook pages based on the story. We have gotten a good response back from parents that the kids like the packets and it is something they can do themselves without relying on screen time. One kid last month said the best part for her packet was opening the Bible and reading the story all by her self. Pretty crazy stuff, right?
Every month we send out a challange too. Last month, it was for every picture of a kid who was working on a packet got sent in, a donor would donate 10 cans of tuna to the tuna food drive this month. We donated over 100 cans of tuna to The Great Tuna Food Drive from the work of the Elementary School kids alone. This month, we sent each kid cut out hearts to make Valentines to include in the food bags with M&M’s for the participants at Lazarus House. We sent each parent a self addressed envelope so they could send it in easily. Another student said, “Last month the prize was donating the cans of tuna. This month the Valentines are the prizes.” You are doing all right kid! You are doing all right!!! Have fun everyone. And thank you to the parents for sending in these great pictures!!! You all rock!!! And have a great day.
