For the gift card project, my sister and I used the money to go to the store and by canned food for the Neighbors in Need thanksgiving drive. We thought it would be good for people who needed food to be able to have some. There are many people who don’t have as much as we do. And we wanted to try and help them. We also went out and bought some blankets to give to the program too. It has been very cold lately, and I can’t imagine anyone having to spend the night outside. It is really hard to imagine that people have to do this, but yet they do. I really wanted to help them so they would have at least something warm to put on. Having been used to mostly spending money for myself, it was nice to know I was using money to buy something that would help out others. I did this project because I enjoy volunteering and helping others out, and taking part in our church’s commitment to volunteering. Jesus liked to serve others. And I think he likes it it when we do the same thing. It is a way we can show God’s love to others.
