“25 Days of Living In The Light”
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1

Hi, my name is Camille and am a junior at Andover High. I chose to donate my gift card to a fundraiser at my high school that makes sure that all students are able to receive some form of holiday present, to ensure everyone gets to join in on the holiday spirit and feel special, no matter where they come from or how much money they have. The holidays are an important time for all of us, and for me personally, Christmas is normally a holiday where I get to spend quality time going on adventures with my family and seeing different aunts and uncles that I only get the chance to visit with once a year. Another favorite part of the holidays for me is being able to reflect on my year and think about all of the great experiences I was able to take part in, all of the super cool people I was able to meet, and most importantly, reflecting on those everyday things that I can sometimes take for granted without even realizing it. Being able to live in a house with a roof over my head, having warmth from the fireplace during these chilly (well, normally chilly) New England winters, always having a meal on my table that tastes delicious and keeps me full. All of these things are part of my everyday life, and if you don’t take a moment to stop and reflect, they could easily pass you by, just another day. My heart goes out to my fellow peers who are not able to enjoy these little, yet so large, pieces of everyday life, and I think this fundraiser that my school sets up each Christmas is a wonderful way for everyone to feel some Holiday Cheer. Even if they are struggling with life at home, I hope that this gift card (from Perfectos!) can put a smile on their face and add a little positivity, especially in the time of corona, where everything is constantly changing!
