We used our gift cards to buy essential items like soap, shampoo and socks for the women recovery home, Haven of Hope, in Methuen, MA. Haven for Hope is a place for woman to go if they need to and to feel safe. I have lived in my house for 13 years and never knew about that place. My Mom helped me find it. This experience showed me that we have recovery homes in our neighborhood that need our help. I did not know this before. I learned that it doesn’t hurt to help others, actually it makes you feel good and it helps others in need too. It fits into my Christian Faith when we care about and share our blessings with others in our community without being asked. That is what God would like us to do. To show God’s love.
