“25 Days of Living In The Light”

“This is my commandment to you, That you should love one another as I have loved you.

I chose to spend my $25.00 gift card to buy Dunkin Donut gift cards for the homeless. In the bulletin, I saw that Tom Baird was looking for donations for The Bread & Roses Food Program in Lawrence . One of the requests was that they need $10 Dunkin Donuts gift cards to give to the homeless as a source of food and also to give them somewhere to go as a place to stay warm. My parents also wanted to help out with this project, so they also put forth $25 dollars so as a match, In total, I could buy 5 gift cards to Dunkin Donuts for $10.00 each. I wanted to contribute in this way because, for Confirmation Class, we were supposed to help out at Bread & Roses a few times. When I was there, I saw how many people rely on the food given out as their main meal for the day. Since eating at Bread & Roses is halted due to Covid, I understood that these donations would be a huge help. This project made me realize how fortunate I am and how much I take for granted. Even a little donation like this one can go a long way in someone’s life. You never know how much this might effect someone. This project helped practice my Christian Faith by loving others the way you would love yourself. And as God loves you too. I would definitely recommend contributing a donation in some sort of way during this Christmas season. Find something that you are interested in helping out, and just try it. You will be surprised at what you can do!
