Later this evening my family and I will be celebrating Burns Day.
I’m still learning what exactly this Scottish day of remembrance of poet Robert Burns is all about. But we’ll have some shortbread and some fun-sounding dishes such as Cock-a-Leekie Traybake and Clapshot and maybe even some haggis if I can find it. We’ll hear some poetry and play some Scottish music.
It will be a celebration!
Why? Because it’s always good to celebrate. And it’s especially good to celebrate at the end of a rainy and snowy January week in New England.
Having a dreary week? Find something to celebrate. It does the heart good.
Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. (Philippians 4:4)
In Christ,
Pastor Jen
