The book of Revelation is perhaps the most misunderstood book of the Bible. It is highly symbolic yet over the millennia, many have tried to convince others that they have discovered the true meaning of the book and its symbols.
People have taken its verses and calculated the date that they believe the world will end.
People have taken its verses and decided that earthquakes, wars, pandemics, and more have been predicted in its pages.
People have taken its verses and proclaimed that there will be a time when a fearsome God will ‘rapture’ some away leaving others to languor in the midst of tribulation.
Contrary to these convoluted theories some preachers have read into its pages, Revelation brings a message not of despair or war, but of transformation and justice. It describes a tree of life and a river of life which bring hope to us and our world.
