“25 Days of Living in the Light!”
“But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came to where the man was; and when he saw him, he wanted to help him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
Luke 10: 33-37
With the $25.00 gift card from church, I went to Target and bought toys for kids who will be in Tufts Children’s Hospital on Christmas Day. I know these kids aren’t going to be able to spend Christmas Eve in their own beds and they won’t be in their own homes with their families on Christmas morning like I will be. And I wanted to try and give them some happiness, as maybe they are going through a really hard time. This is what Jesus would like us to do.The toys are being collected by “The Mighty Meredith Project”. Meredith is a girl who lives in our town who suffered a traumatic brain injury a few years ago and created her organization to spread kindness and teach others about the impact of having a hidden illness or disease.
It makes you feel good to give to others and be kind to others especially those who might be sick or suffering.
