“25 Days of Living in the Light!”

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:34-35

I chose to go out and buy socks and donate them for the “25 Days of Living in the Light” project because I know how important it is for people who need socks to get them, especially during the colder seasons. I’ve read reports and articles about the most requested item for homeless people in shelters and they are socks. I agree with this and I think that these items are always important for people to have. When I heard about this opportunity for me to help out someone in need, I thought this idea would be perfect. In the spirit of the Holiday season and my year of getting confirmed I’ve wanted to become closer with God and give back to the community in some way. I may be able to help in my Freshman year in High School too. I am truly excited to participate in this with my church because it gives me a different perspective on my life to think about other people’s lives, compared to mine. In this project, I hope to help people and learn new things. This is where I see God.
