It’s well-established that meditation has health benefits…lower blood pressure, decreased anxiety, improved sleep, and even possibly less age-associated memory loss.

There are spiritual benefits to a meditation form of prayer as well. It is a discipline which focuses on listening for God rather than talking. If you’re like me, the talking tends to outweigh the listening.

Most of us, however, have never learned this type of prayer practice. It can seem mysterious or time-consuming or difficult.
