For my 25 Days in the Light project I decided to make Christmas Cookie Jars. The best part of my Christmas ritual is baking cookies with my family. We do it every year, and even despite the pandemic we have figured out a way to do this together with Zoom. But I realized that not everybody has that opportunity that I have during the holiday season. And for some people, their family is unable to celebrate with them. But the joy of baking to me isn\u2019t what you make in the end, it\u2019s the time you spend with others while baking. So I made Christmas Cookies in a Jar. The purpose of these jars is to make life easier while baking in the kitchen. It has all the dry ingredients and all the little goodies that go inside a perfect cookie, plus a recipe card with simple instructions. I intended these cookies in a jar to go to lab workers at my local hospital that do all of the COVID tests. They work so hard to go through all the tests and have to do many shifts to get them all done. But unfortunately because of high infection rates, they were unable to take any homemade food. So I thought of the second best thing. There are plenty of people in my community who don\u2019t have enough money to make Christmas cookies with their family. So I dropped off my 12 Christmas Cookie Jars to my local food and clothing pantry for people in need to have a fun treat when they get their food. To me giving people hope and cheer in this time of darkness is a good way to forget about all the dark in our lives for a little bit. I hope that when people receive these Christmas Cookie Jars that they will go home and be able to bake cookies with their family and not have to worry about the money or cost of having a little hope and cheer in their lives. This is my little contribution to helping God\u2019s light shine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
