{"id":6826,"date":"2020-03-31T09:07:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-31T13:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faith-andover.org\/wp\/?p=6826"},"modified":"2020-03-29T13:06:35","modified_gmt":"2020-03-29T17:06:35","slug":"i-will-lift-up-my-eyes-to-the-hills-where-does-my-help-come-from","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/faith-andover.org\/?p=6826","title":{"rendered":"I Will Lift Up My Eyes To The Hills, Where Does My Help Come From?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"728\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/faith-andover.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/6-a-scripture-presentations-1-728.jpg\" alt=\"I Will Lift Up My Eyes To The Hills, Where Does My Help Come From?\" class=\"wp-image-6829\" srcset=\"https:\/\/faith-andover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/6-a-scripture-presentations-1-728.jpg 728w, https:\/\/faith-andover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/6-a-scripture-presentations-1-728-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/faith-andover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/6-a-scripture-presentations-1-728-24x18.jpg 24w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I will lift up my eyes to the hills &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">where does my help come from?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My help comes from the Lord,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the Maker of heaven and earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\">Psalm 121: 1-2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Psalm 121 is one of the \u201csongs of ascent\u201d (Psalms 120-134). &nbsp;Psalm 121 is a song for the journey of life and about seeking God\u2019s help amid the dangers that the people of God could encounter with the encouragement to look to God for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are difficult times with the spread of the coronavirus and a deep loss of the feeling security and safety in our world. &nbsp;This Psalm has always helped to give me hope and strength in my faith. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was also one of my mother&#8217;s favorites and shared at my mother\u2019s funeral. &nbsp;The words tell us to look up and look ahead, knowing that God is always with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Psalm also speaks to me when I am outside, perhaps because I grew up on the farm. &nbsp; I have always enjoyed getting outside to go for a walk, hike, row or work in my garden. &nbsp;Even being outside in the snow and rain rejuvenates me and helps my inner peace. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wind, fresh air, birds, trees, wildflowers and all of God\u2019s creation surround me. &nbsp; Lately, I have been checking out the wetlands in my neighborhood for that early skunk cabbage. &nbsp; I thank God for this time in his creation. &nbsp; It is a time for mindfulness, thankfulness and also offers me that space for thinking of others needing my prayers. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whatever \u201chills\u201d we are climbing, may we find God\u2019s Peace and Love and know that God is always with us.
