By ourselves. But what a difference it makes to get away for a few days. What a difference it makes to get outdoors when there\u2019s snow on the ground. What a difference it makes to go on retreat with others. What a difference it makes to spend time in such a sacred place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When most people think of camp, they think of summer. I invite you to consider Camp Calumet in the off-season. Take a few days of retreat. Rent a winterized cabin or make a reservation in the conference center (which is nicer than some motel rooms I\u2019ve been in \u2013 and yes, there are private in-room bathrooms). Let someone else prepare meals for a change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The gospels note that Jesus often took time away from others and his everyday life. He found it important to recharge and reconnect.
