It is also my birthday! This year for the &#8220;25 Days of Living in the Light&#8221; project, I chose to donate to Bees for Development. Here is some information about Bees for Development.&nbsp; <em>&#8220;Founded in 1993 by Megan Denver, Bees for Development&nbsp; was originally set up to educate communities in poorer nations on the financial and ecological benefits of beekeeping. Today, Bees For Development tackles poverty in Africa, Asia, Europe, and America by providing local people with the tools and knowledge to perform sustainable beekeeping.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&nbsp;chose this project because bees help the world! In the&nbsp;past 15 years 90% of the bees&nbsp;have disappeared.&nbsp;Bees have lost half of their habitat because&nbsp;of climate change and I want to help bees survive. We depend&nbsp;on bees for our food. One out of every three bites of food comes from plants that are pollinated by bees and butterflies. Also, this organization helps provide work for people who live in poverty. Bees for Development teaches people how to become beekeepers and they can then sell the honey and beeswax.<br><br>Along with&nbsp;donating money I also purchased milkweed seeds and planted them in our garden and in a nearby nature&nbsp;preserve.
