I am very thankful for everyone who helped out and supported this event yesterday. 7 people met yesterday afternoon and made Emergency Care Kits. The kits contained socks, toiletries, masks, sanitizer, snacks, combs, razors, etc… Then another 10 people met last night and made sandwiches. We drove in Boston in separate cars and handed out the Emergency Care Kits, Hats, Mittens, Scarfs, Blankets and Sandwiches. We even handed out about thirty $10.00 gift cards to Dunkin Donuts so people could get a warm meal the next day too. Very thankful for all the people who came out this day and night. It was inspiring to me to share this experience with all of you.
Also, grateful to everyone at church and friends and family. Together, we raised over $2750 for this cause. Also very thankful to everyone who donated homemade hats, mittens, scarfs and blankets. In my mind, I can see you making them all. And it is just a great feeling knowing that they were made with the intent to show God’s love to one another. It is really awesome!!! I just wanted to end with saying how proud I am of these kids and parents who helped out and distributed the stuff last night. Sometimes I get discouraged with the world, but last night it was so great to see this kids and parents thinking beyond themselves, serving others and sharing Christ’s love to those around them. It will probably make me smile the rest of the month.
In closing, I received this text from one of the kids last night. “Thank you! I had fun tonight and so did my friends.” A High School kid writing that about serving others. We are doing all right! If you are a Youth Director, that is what you want to hear. Thank you everyone for your support! You are all awesome!!! And have good rest of the day!!! You all rock!!! Talk to you soon!!!
